Apopka United Against Gangs - Apopka United Against Gangs is a grassroots initiative to eliminate gangs from the city of Apopka and northwest Orange County in the state of Florida. This initiative involves a 3-pronge approach of prevention, intervention and suppression. It includes educating the community about gangs, increasing awareness of the warning signs of youth at risk of joining gangs and getting the whole community involved in helping these children find positive alternatives to the gang life.

- Attend town hall meetings and workshops
- Become a mentor for at-risk youth

City of Apopka Youth Advisory Board - The Youth Advisory Board was established in November, 2007 as a community youth board to create, review, recommend and implement strategies and projects to engage the youth within the community. The mission of the Youth Advisory Board is to represent the youth of Apopka by acting as a voice for current youth concerns and to advise the City of Apopka on all future issues that impact our youth. Current projects include: Youth Day in the Capitol, Mentoring & Volunteer Initiative, Historical Marker Project, Adopt-a-Road and Youth Council Meetings.
